CHRISTINE RACKAS, (nee Joanides), age 89, born in Lakewood, OH. Beloved wife of John E. for 59 years; loving mother of Helen Golubski, Steven and John (Ellen); cherished grandmother (Yia-Yia) of Alexander Golubski and Jason Rackas; dear sister of Helen Mavrolas (Leon, deceased) and Mary Danaczko (George, deceased); dear sister-in-law of Costa (Evea), Katina Angelakis (deceased) (both of Greece) and Pete Rakopoulos (deceased) (Stella); dear aunt and friend to many. Christine was a member of St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church since 1972 and served on various committees including the Philoptochos, she was a past President of the Daughters of Penelope, member of the Hellenic Preservation Society and donated much of her time to keeping the memory of Greek immigrants who settled in the Cleveland area alive over the last century. Funeral service Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church (4548 Wallings Rd., North Royalton). Interment St. Theodosius Cemetery. Friends received SUNDAY 4-8 PM at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD., PARMA. Trisagion service at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers family would prefer donations be made to the St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church Capital Improvements Fund. Mom you were loved and will be missed.
