Violet L. Jaster

Violet L. Jaster (nee Trkula) former wife of the late Sylvester Jaster. Beloved mother of Candace Jessup (AZ), dear grandmother of Sonya Warshaw (AZ) and Sabrina Rossetti (CA), adopted grandmother of Andrew Kopas (DC), great grandmother of Vincent, Natasha and Vivianna. Beloved sister of Sonya Sinek (deceased). Early in life Violet demonstrated a desire to help others. She became a nurse, graduating at the top of her class. Violet worked for a brief period at J & L Steel, climbing into the ts to rescue miners and then moved onto the VA hospital taking care of Vietnam Vets. She found her true calling when she accepted a position at Cleveland Psychiatric Institute. She rose thru the ranks being a Head Nurse then Instructor of Nursing and finally Head of Quality Assurance for CPI. She took to the lecture circuit teaching the History of Psychiatric Nursing both at Case Western Reserve and in New York. She and her team were one of the first to use poetry therapy for healing. Violet loved live theatre and spending time with her two close friends Don Nye and Toni Kline. She will be truly missed.
