WALTER P. PRUSAK, JR.

WALTER P. PRUSAK, JR., age 76, gracefully passed on December 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette (nee Rak); loving father of Anthony, Peter (Lisa) Stephanie Procter (Jonathan) and Laura Wheaton (Timothy); proud grandfather of Dylan, Nicholas, Noah, Anna, Chase, Lily and Emma; loving son of Walter Sr and Helen (nee Schultz) (both deceased); dear brother of Paul (deceased) (Elizabeth), Mark (deceased) and Richard (Carol). dear uncle, cousin and friend to many, many people. Wally was a major contributor to the success of Champion Sporting Goods, Favorite Knits and Wally’s Sport Center, outfitting professional and amateur athletes for over 50 years. He was the inventor of the “sidewalk sale,” the person who brought the Nike brand east of the Mississippi, and a really, really great sales person. He insisted on taking care of his customers and was a true businessman. Wally loved his martinis cold, a Southern Comfort Manhattan or three, and great conversations, mostly with the “ladies.” However, his true passion was his family. He was the past President of the Parma Kiwanis Club, Parma Area Chamber of Commerce, and Our Gang Ltd, and upon admission, promptly took over the Men’s Club at the Broadview Multi-Care Center. Wally was a founding member of what today is the Parma Rib & Rock, and was involved in the remodeling of Byers Field in the 1990’s. His clambakes were legendary, as were his backyard cookouts. Wally lived a great life. Please have a toast to a man who loved a good dinner, a great cocktail, his family, and having a fun time. Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD., PARMA. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received 4-8 PM THURSDAY.
