Barbara Ann “Babs” Lorek

Barbara Ann “Babs” Lorek (nee Wilson), age 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was at peace while in the presence of her loving children and in hospice care at the Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital in Medina, Ohio.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Lorek Sr., and the loving mother of Frankie Jr., (deceased) (Doren), Timothy, Ricky Linn (Kim), Kimberly (Robert) Klein, and cherished grandmother of Brandon Linn (Kayla), and who became a great grandmother when Brandon and Kayla became the proud parents of her great granddaughter baby Elliana Lynn Lorek, on February 8, 2019.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Melvin E. Wilson and Ruth Clara (Messner/Wilson) Jones, her loving stepfather Charles S. (Elizabeth) Jones. She was the sister of the late Ronald Sr., (Janice) Wilson and Jimmy Wilson.

Barbara graduated from Willoughby High School in Willoughby, Ohio. She worked hard all her life, as she and her family owned and operated the Bus Stop Lounge in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. Then for many years after, she and her husband resided in Hollywood, Florida, where she enjoyed playing bingo and going to flea markets with her best friend Leonisa Munoz. She also worked as a school bus attendant for the Broward County School System and was proud to work with the kids alongside her dear friend Anna Priest. Andy and Carol, Marie, Tommy and Cindy and Patty were long time Florida neighbors and dear friends.

Barbara was and will always be our beautifully loving Angel. She was the most wonderful and loving mother anyone could ever ask for. Such a kind and caring person, always positive and full of life.

We will forever miss her beautiful smile and gentle kindness until the day we will all be together again.

It’s going to make it a little easier when it’s our time, knowing mother will be waiting for us to join her on the other side.

“Love You Mother” your little Ricky, Kimberly, Timothy and Frankie, Jr.

Barbara’s family expresses special thanks to friends Sandy, JoAnn and Tina.

Memorial service will be held at a later date due to covid.
