CAROL A. WANAT, a devoted mother, friend, and beloved community member, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Born on August 1, 1933, to Charles and Rose (nee Koudela) Sharp (both deceased), Carol lived a life defined by faith, service, and an enduring dedication to her family and community.
Carol is now reunited with her loving husband, Walter, who preceded her in death. She was the proud and loving mother of Lisa Berwald, David Wanat, and Charles (Stacy) Wanat. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Nicholas, Taylor (Pauly), and Tori and great- grandmother of Isabella, Sonny and Jackson who will forever cherish her memory, her wisdom, and the loving warm home she created.
A woman of deep faith, Carol was a long-time parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Parish where she also served as a board member of the Ladie’s Guild, and found great joy in community, worship, and fellowship.
Her love for children and community extended into her professional life as well. She enjoyed a long, fulfilling career at Chippewa Elementary School, from which she retired after years of dedicated service to the students and staff of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District.
Beyond her career and parish life, Carol was immensely proud of the Tri Chi’s, a lifelong friend group she considered family that has maintained its bond spanning eight decades.
Her kind and generous spirit, gentle strength, and legacy of service will be deeply missed by her children, extended family, former colleagues, and the many friends whose lives she touched over nearly a century.

Service 10:15 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE ROAD, PARMA 44129. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Friends received THURSDAY from 4-8 PM.
