CHESTER J. ALECK

Chester J. Aleck, age 94, 3/17/1928 – 3/21/2022. Loving husband of 70 years to Barbara Aleck (nee Kubiak) of Aurora, OH. Dear brother of Thomas C. Aleck of Shalersville, OH. Devoted father of Jimmy Aleck (Sunni) of Oakwood Village, OH, Linda Stefan (deceased) and Catherine Aleck of Bainbridge, OH. Grandfather to Jaime Aleck of Brooklyn Hts., OH and Andrew Aleck of Burton, OH. Great grandfather of Jaymes Kleinsmith and Shaelynn Piwinski of Brooklyn Hts., OH and Anderson Aleck and Aiden Aleck of Burton, OH.

Chester grew up in Slavic Village and graduated from Benedictine High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he proudly served for 2 years as Seaman, First Class in Alameda, CA. After receiving an Honorable Discharge and returning to Cleveland, Chester met Barbara. They fell in love and were married September 8, 1951 at St. Stanislaus Church. They moved to Bedford and raised their three children, enjoying family picnics, vacations, and holidays together throughout the years.

Chester retired from the U.S. Post Office after 25 years and enjoyed a life of camping, fishing and bowling. He had a great sense of humor, and could always take or make a joke! He was a huge fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Browns. He always had an extra 5 dollars in his wallet.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Clara (nee Gruszczynski) and Stanley Aleck, and daughter, Linda Stefan. He leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his memory. He will be sadly missed.

A special thanks to the entire staff at the Avenue of Aurora for their loving care of Chester.
