DONALD JOSEPH PREISING, age 85, peacefully passed away at home on June 15, 2026 after a courageous seven-month battle with lymphoma. He is now reunited with his beloved son, Daniel (1989); his former wife, Jennifer Preising (2023); his parents, George (2003) and Martha (2003); and his brothers, Robert (2005) and Thomas (2012).
Born February 8, 1941, Don spent his life working hard and loving his family even harder. His lifelong passion for golf began when he was a young caddy and remained a constant source of joy throughout his life. As a young adult, he proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning a 38-year career with American Airlines Fleet Services, where he dedicated himself to hard work and providing for his family.
Don found joy in the little things. He loved shopping for a good bargain, and finding his beloved Lacoste gators, that were near and dear to his heart. He took great pride in his lawn and could often be found cutting grass—whether at the golf course or on his hands and knees with kitchen shears, perfecting every blade. His cars were no different; they were always impeccably waxed and sparkling bright.
Above all, Don was devoted to his family. His spirit lives on through his children, Joseph (Lauren) and Jacob (Bradley Dalzell); his precious grandchildren, Trace and Rex; his partner, Emily Leight; his brother, David (Barbara); his sister-in-law, Elaine Preising, his grateful nephews; and extended family and dear friends.
Don will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of golf, his devotion to his family, and the unmistakable personality that made him uniquely Don. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply, and the countless stories they will carry with them.
To honor Don’s memory, we are holding a wake on FRIDAY, September 11, 2026, at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD, PARMA, OH 44129 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua 6750 STATE RD, PARMA, OH 44134 at 10:00 AM, then proceeded to Holy Cross Cemetery 14609 BROOKPARK RD, BROOK PARK, OH 44142 where he will be laid to rest with his son Daniel. A celebration of his life will proceed at the Ridgewood Golf Course and Event Center 6505 RIDGE RD PARMA, OH 44129. The celebration will begin at 1:00 PM and food will be provided. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
