Donna Marie Alba, 74, of Newburgh Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospice of Parma on April 25, 2025, with her daughter, Lori at her side. Donna battled COPD for many years and fought hard to enjoy every moment of life.
She was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan and is now cheering for her favorite team from the best seats in the house. Donna loved to cook and bake; when she could no longer do it herself, she found joy in teaching others, supervising, and of course, taste-testing. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing laughs and memories with family and friends, especially on Facebook. Donna cared deeply for those who cared for her and took pride in helping others in any way she could.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Lori (Dennis “DJ” Nottingham); sister-in-law, Helene Kula (Alba); many nieces, nephews, dear neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Mildred (Daniels) Wagner Sr.; beloved husband, Gerald “Jerry” Alba; her sister, Joyce Rauscher; and brother, Michael “Mickey” Wagner.
In keeping with her wishes, Donna will be cremated and laid to rest with her parents at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio. To honor her memory, the family kindly asks that you plant tulips—her favorite flower—or make a donation to Holy Family Home & Hospice, whose care and compassion brought her great comfort during Jerry’s passing and again in her own time of need.
