EVELYN KONDAS

Evelyn Kondas (nee Zackowski), age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep August 15, 2023. She was born May 12, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Wladyslawa (Lottie) Zaczkowski. She married Edward George Kondas on October 20, 1951, who preceded her in death in 1991. She will be sorely missed and survived by her children: Karen, Mark of Guam and Brian (Julie); and grandchildren Gregory and Christopher; dear sister of Ray (Julius) and Bernard (both deceased); dear aunt.

Evelyn attended St. Stanislaus grade school and graduated from Marymount High School. She became a full-time and dedicated mother upon the birth of her first child. The household was a hive of activity and source of warmth. She found much satisfaction and joy in everyday activities whether it be running the household, baking, decorating, or entertaining. However, she loved nothing more than being in the company of her family.

Evelyn patronized music and the arts. She remained curious and interested in the world. She travelled throughout the States with her family. Later, Evelyn travelled to Europe, the western pacific, Australia and New Zealand with her husband. She was a member of the Christ Child Society of Cleveland for more than 50 years. Her involvement with the chapter was near and dear to her.

Family will receive relatives and friends at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 22, 2023, at The Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus Church, 3649 E. 65 St. Cleveland, OH 44105 with a funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery.
