GENEVIEVE JABLONSKI

Genevieve Jablonski (nee Lakota), age 92, of Garfield Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025.  Genevieve was born on December 15, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Vincent and Anna (Barscy) Lakota.  Genevieve was the beloved wife to the late Richard E. Jablonski.  She is survived by her son, Richard W. Jablonski and daughter-in-law Sarah E. McAchran, MD, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her sisters Lottie Urban (Anthony), Sophie Paul (Michael), and brothers Joseph Lakota and Melvin Lakota.

Genevieve was devoted to her family, her friends, and her faith.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Cleveland baseball.  She worked at Ohio Bell Telephone Co., was the librarian at the St. Hyacinth Elementary School, was an award-winning volunteer at Marymount Hospital, and an active member of fraternal organizations with the Polish American community of Cleveland, most notably the Union of Poles in America. 

Family and friends will be received at Golubski Funeral Home, 5986 Ridge Road, Parma, Ohio 44129-3939 on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 906 College Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44113.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.  The family requests those attending Mass to meet at St. John Cantius Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to St. John Cantius Church, Cleveland, Ohio.
