GEORGE HALSEY KING, passed away March 14th, 2023 and is at peace. George was born to Doris (nee Lanning) and George Washington King on May 12, 1935. He is survived by his long-time partner and high school sweetheart Kathryn (Kitsy) Johnson; his three children: Karen Muthusammy (Derrick), Edward (Alyson), Susan (Dan) and his first wife and mother of his three children, Kristine King.
He took great pride and joy in his four grandchildren Melissa Muthusammy, Michael Muthusammy, Trevor King, and Samantha King and his great grandchildren Emily and Ethan; uncle of many nieces, and nephews.
George graduated from Shaker Heights High School followed by Ohio Wesleyan University where he played football and met many lifelong friends. George was a three-sport athlete in high school and was even invited to spring training by the Indians. He served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant and was in Germany at the same time as Elvis! George was a hard worker and continually throughout his career path was recognized and promoted, retiring as President of Cuyahoga Bolt and Screw where he had held an ownership position.
George spent the last 20 years of his life in sunny Cocoa Beach Florida, where he and Kitsy were surrounded by many great friends. This was his favorite home and final resting place. He loved life and loved people especially. He was able to converse with all types of people, it was his gift. Everyone who ever met George loved him. He always found the positive in any situation. Challenging folks or off situations often presented him with the opportunity to find humor. His guidance love and support will be greatly missed.
