IRENE LILLIAN HOVATER

Irene Lillian Hovater (nee Pleta), entered peacefully into rest on July 17th, 2023.  Irene will reunite in heaven with her parents, her husband Horace (better known as Larry), her son Glenn, grandson Perry, granddaughter Allison, her son in law Frank Stadalsky, her sister, Mildred Ulicky (John).  She is survived by her son Larry Hovater (Suzanne), daughter Eileen Hovater Stadalsky, stepdaughter Wanda Davis Riddell and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Helen Korecky (Richard-deceased), and nieces and nephews.

Irene and her husband moved to Hinckley around 1977 where they spent many years taking care of each other and their grandkids.  Irene loved to be surrounded by her family and often invited guests to their farm in Hinckley where they explored the gully, played volleyball and relaxed on their peaceful plot of land.

Irene later moved to Matthews, North Carolina to be closer to her daughter Eileen and her family and escape the harsh Ohio winters.  She lived in North Carolina for many years before returning back to Ohio in 2018 to live her remaining days at Northfield Village Retirement Community.

Irene’s family invites you to say your farewell at Golubski Funeral Home, corner of E. 65th and Fullerton Avenue, 44105 in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood on Saturday, August 19th from 1 to 3pm.  From there, you are invited to join the family for dinner at the Polish American Cultural Center located at 6501 Lansing Avenue in Cleveland, 44105 immediately following the visiting.
