JOHN ROBERT HOGAN, age 76, departed this world on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband to Sarah Jane (nee Rakow) (deceased); loving father to Matthew John Hogan (Mary), Meghin Eileen Hogan, Amalia Mae Wallencheck (Brandon), and Jonathan Maximus Xavier Hogan (Eleanor). Cherished Papa to Mia and Paige Hogan, and Ava, Aria, and Alivia Wallencheck. Son of John and Virginia (nee Barens) Hogan (both deceased). Dear brother to Mary Hogan (deceased) and Kathleen Hogan (deceased).
John grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was a proud member of the Boyscouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. John graduated from Ohio State University and obtained his Master’s degree from Kent State University. John spent his career working for various Ohio counties. He lived everyday as if it were “another day in which to excel”. Most importantly, he succeeded in the best job he ever had, being a dad. John was a warm and welcoming spirit who made friends anywhere he went. He loved to tell stories and describe the angels he met along the way on his adventures. He will be greatly missed by his family and a great many others that he has made an impact on in his life.
Family and friends are invited to join in the celebration of John’s life THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD., PARMA. Graveside service 11:00 am on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Holy Cross Cemetery 14609 Brookpark Rd, Brookpark, OH 44142. If attending the graveside service please meet by the cemetery front office. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
