KAY E. SMITH

KAY E. SMITH (nee Zulauf), age 78. Beloved wife of Douglas A., Sr. for 52 years; loving mother of Douglas A., Jr. (Jennifer) and Kelly; cherished grandmother of Clara, Madeline and Aideen Smith; dearest sister of Judy Orders (Roger); dear aunt and friend of many. Before taking the Cleveland Metro real estate market by storm as a successful broker (30 years), she was a teacher of children with cognitive disabilities. A joy and a light to all who met her, she was an enthusiast of Art Deco architecture, as well as modern art and interior design where she surrounded herself with bright colors such as orange, yellow, fuchsia and white which embodied her illuminating character and her sweet and kind spirit; her  favorite flowers were sunflowers. She loved traveling throughout the U.S. by car with her husband and stopping at all the “cute little shops” for furniture and knickknacks along the way. Her favorite dinners were with her husband at the Columbia restaurant (Cuban) and Bern’s Steakhouse in Florida, and she would never pass up the chance for an evening out at a Mexican Restaurant for Dos Equis dark beer and “yummy” chips and queso fundido. When she celebrated with friends and family, she enjoyed chilling out to 70’s soft rock and sipping a perfect lemon drop martini. Above all, she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Holy Family Hospice Home. Memorial visitation THURSDAY, March 30, 2023 from 5-8 PM at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD., PARMA. Services 7 PM.
