Marie was born to Polish immigrants, Joseph and Theresa Konopinski (nee Ruchaj) in Newburg Heights, Ohio on March 13, 1928, the youngest of thirteen children. Dear sister of Sophie (Andrew) Marchak, Florence (Frank) Aleksinski, Stephanie Valen, Edward (Natalie) Konopinski, Clara (Lester) Krajewski, Frank (Helen) Konopinski, Cecelia (Raymond) Bryk, Helen (Charles) Wilk, Dorothy (Larry) Zebrasky and Henry (Harriette) Konopinski (all deceased). Marie and Norman met at Republic Steel, were married and built their first home in Bedford, OH.  After some time and three kids later, they built a new home in Parma Heights, OH, where they welcomed their fourth child. Marie worked at Valley Forge High School in the cafeteria for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Parish and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Marie’s interests were sewing, golfing, bowling, reading, baking and BINGO. She belonged on a golf league at Ridgewood Golf Course and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and the Browns. She also enjoyed working in the yard. But most of all, her deep faith and her family were her number one priority. She will be deeply missed by us all.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Symphony at Olmsted Falls and Cypress Hospice for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
