RONALD R. GRAMS

A lifetime parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Ron graduated from St. Stanislaus Elementary and High School.  He attended Cleveland State University in addition to John Carroll University.  Ron was in charge of St. Stanislaus altar boys for five years, is past President of the St. Stanislaus Holy Name Society, Dad’s Club, and has been a Eucharistic Minister for 40 years.  In addition, he served over 200 funerals when he retired.

Ron was drafted into the US Army in 1961, went through basic training at Fort Knox, then transferred to Fort Carson and assigned to the 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized), 1st Brigade, Headquarters Company, S3 Section Operations and honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant E-5.

A longtime resident of Slavic Village and Garfield Heights and a resident of Seven Hills for the past 10 months. He was Recording Secretary of Garfield Heights Democratic Club and Treasurer of the Public Employees Retirement Club, Cuyahoga Branch 2.

Ron is a lifetime member of the Union of Poles in America and has been Secretary/Treasurer of Branch 122 for 40 years.  He has been a member of Union of Poles Booster and Sports Committee since 1982.  Ron was elected to the Board of Directors in 1986 and remained there until the merger of the Union of Poles and Polish National Alliance in 2004.  The Polonia Foundation of Ohio honored him as a Knight of Pulaski in 2015.

He was a delegate to the Ohio Fraternal Congress many times, then elected to the Board of Directors in 1995 and rose to the title of 2nd Vice-President of the Ohio Fraternal in 2002.

Ron worked for US Steel Supply Division for 22 years until the division closed.  Afterwards, he worked for Gerald Fuerst, Cuyahoga County Clerk of Court, for 22 years attaining the title of Docket Supervisor.

Ron married Joanne Skryp in 1965, and they have celebrated 57 years of wedded bliss.  They have three children:  Nancy Grams, Cathy Ziegler (Joe), and Mike Grams (Chris).  They are also the very proud grandparents of six grandchildren:  Joey Ziegler, Jacob Grams, Katie Ziegler, Hunter Grams, Emily Ziegler, and Madi Grams. Ron’s brother Jack and his wife, Rita are both deceased.

Services Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE RD., PARMA, 44129 and at 11 a.m. at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received at the funeral home Monday 3-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the Jennings Center for Older Adults.
