WAYNE SWIAT

WAYNE SWIAT, age 77, of North Royalton, previously Broadview Heights was united with his heavenly family on May 8, 2025. Wayne was born in Cleveland, OH on October 5, 1947 to Stanley and Eileen (Baker) Swiat. He was a proud graduate of North Royalton High School in 1965 where he played the snare drum in the marching band. 

Wayne was an Army Vietnam Veteran rank SP4, where he served his country repairing radio communications. He received the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), Distinguished Rifle Shot Marksmen (M-16), Vietnam Campaign Medal (VCM), and 2 Army Overseas Service Bars. After the service, he was a drummer in a local band and enjoyed drag racing. He worked as a Corrosion Engineer for Harco and then Corrpro in Medina, OH. He was an active member of multiple tropical fish clubs including the Medina County Aquarium Society.  Wayne’s life was filled with family, friends, music, and more. He had a love for fishing, hunting, gardening, and going to the casinos. He enjoyed big family gatherings and intimate card games. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, big brother John “Jack” Swiat, little sister Judy Swiat, brother-in-law Chuck Lloyd, and girlfriend Marjorie Humes. He is survived by his former wife, Linda Swiat; siblings: Nadine (Erine) Mayher, Claudia Lloyd, and Joe Irene; children: Adam (Melanie) Swiat, Samantha (Kurtis) Ponting, and Lee (Tonya) Swiat; grandchildren Tattum, Nicholas, MacGuire, Tyler, Tristan, Tabitha, Garrett, Ashtyn, and Jordan.

Visitation will be SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2025 from 3-7 PM at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 RIDGE ROAD, PARMA OH. Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 7367 York Road, Parma, OH, followed by a military funeral ceremony. Burial will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 10000 Miles Ave. Cleveland, OH.
